The Rim Fire Groveland CA
The Rim Fire is affecting Tuolumne and Mariposa Counties. It has burned over 16,000 acres. As of 2pm on August 21, 2013 only 5% of the fire has been contained. Here is the latest perimeter map of the fire. The fire saw growth in all areas except towards Groveland CA and Pine Mountain Lake where firefighters set up lines to protect the structures along Ferretti Road.

An Advisory Evacuation for all of Pine Mountain Lake has been issued. If you live within that area you will receive a reverse 911 call or a visit from a unit to update you. Remember, this is an Advisory and you will be instructed by officials of how to proceed.

The communities along Ferretti Road are being evacuated. The Ferretti Road is also closed at Highway 120. Evacuation centers have been opened at Sonora Fairgrounds and Greely Hill Community Center….
The Mother Lode Fair Grounds in Sonora CA have been turned into and evacuation center for people displaced by the Rim Fire. It is open until further notice. Tuolumne County Transit buses are staged at Mary Laveroni Park in Groveland, in the event that South County residents impacted need transportation to the evacuation center. Tuolumne County Transit will run fixed routes tomorrow and have limited one dollar rides.
Because of the smoke, road closures and evacuations….The Big Oak Flat-Groveland Unified School District has cancelled classes for Wednesday.
